Oh...right
by Shadow and LightPM MemberMember Profile on Mon, 18 Sep 2006 01:13

Rath was blunt, as usual. But Shena looked up from her meager meal at his pack. "Oh...right." Feeling embarrassed, she pulled it towards her and reached in to pull out some bread and cheese.

He was right, it should not go to waste. She did have some objection to eating stolen food...but was too hungry to care at the moment. And at least she had discovered that she could grow something to survive on.

Closer to the exit
by DartPM MemberMember Profile on Mon, 25 Sep 2006 23:53

Rath laughed and walked into the forest a bit. He scanned the area with his senses and then returned.

"Nothing out there, but we're almost out of here. Another day and a half I'd guess. Less if we make good time."

"Then i suggest we keep moving" Fuge got up and began to continue. He kept his eye on her however. He didn't want to show all of his secrets yet. But if she got to hungry again, he would have to.

Long journey
by Shadow and LightPM MemberMember Profile on Tue, 26 Sep 2006 22:50

The trio walked in silence once more, always heading south. Shena felt her head drooping down toward her chest, and fought to stay focused on the ground in front of her. When was the last time she had slept?

But she knew they had to get out of Relwen quickly, so she did not mention it. It had been a long journey so far...and she did not know what would happen once they left the forest. Where would they go? Would Lord Simon persue them farther than the forest's edge?

Almost there. What was next? Where should the go? He didn't care. Anwhere but west, and north would seem ridiculous. The silence didn't bother him. What did, was the fact that the kid was too needy. He kept his silence noticing the fading strength in Shena. She wanted to keep going without sleep. At least he'd taken time to sleep several times already, because the short naps help.

Almost out
by Shadow and LightPM MemberMember Profile on Mon, 2 Oct 2006 21:57

After a long time, the sun finally began to peek over the leaves of the trees. The forest was beginning to thin out. Shena had never before been this far south.

She turned and looked over her shoulder at Fuge. "I think maybe we're coming to Relwen's edge." Indeed, a few miles to the south was where the Highlands, Lowlands, and the Great Plains all blended into the tip of Relwen.

Gone.
by fuge_spazzPM MemberMember Profile on Mon, 2 Oct 2006 22:02

As she spoke towards Fuge, she would notice that once again, he had dissapeared before the sun could show itself. But once again, Wolf had stayed behind. Wolf lightly found his way beside Shena walking with her.

Sleep?
by DartPM MemberMember Profile on Mon, 2 Oct 2006 22:14

Rath shook his head for a moment.

"He's gone, Shena."

He continued walking in thought for a few minutes. He was tired and Sena was too. He suddenly stopped. He scanned the area for a minute and then sat down against a tree.

"The exit can wait a little longer. Get some sleep. We'll need it to keep going."

Much needed
by Shadow and LightPM MemberMember Profile on Mon, 2 Oct 2006 22:35

Shena needed no second invitation. She did not even bother walking an extra few feet to a tree. She simple sank down where she had been standing, and was asleep almost instantly.

She had faced away from Rath before slipping into sleep. And until that moment when he had made the suggestion of sleep, she had not stumbled or faltered. Basically, she had not wanted to seem weak, and so had waited for Rath to suggest it before she rested.

Sleep for now
by DartPM MemberMember Profile on Mon, 2 Oct 2006 23:17

Rath sighed and laid back. Poor kid. He needed to talk to her when she woke up. Limits are important. With that thought he leaned back and went to sleep.

Dew trick
by Shadow and LightPM MemberMember Profile on Fri, 6 Oct 2006 00:02

When Shena finally awoke, the sun was past midday. For a moment Shena lay there, looking at the thin trees, wondering where she was. Then everything came flooding back with the force of a gale. She groaned, and rolled over to look at Rath, who was still asleep.

Feeling rested, and not yet hungry (which was a wonderful feeling), she stood up and walked a small distance away. She was a bit thirsty...so she tried a new trick. There was moisture on fallen leaves and in moss on the trunks. She stood still used her sorcery, moving her arms, hands, and fingers to extract tiny amounts of water from small places all around her. She drew them towards her, and collected it all in a floating ball between her palms. She smiled and raised it to her mouth, the ball shrinking until it was gone.

Limits
by DartPM MemberMember Profile on Fri, 6 Oct 2006 00:59

Rath yawned and stood up. After a couple of short stretches he looked at Shena.

"We need to talk. Next time you're that tired tell someone. Pushing yourself past your limits can hurt you more than a couple of people being upset."

He looked at the wolf for a moment and then back to Shena.

"Unlike the wolf and his friend, we aren't exactly used to a night schedule. All I'm saying is that you don't need to worry about looking weak. I've been drifting for years now and I'm used to different conditions, but they are mostly for short periods of time."

He let out another yawn and continued.

"If you don't know your limits, you can push yourself to hardand get hurt. If you ignore your limits, you're asking for trouble."

Ergh!
by Shadow and LightPM MemberMember Profile on Sun, 8 Oct 2006 22:45

Shena looked at him awkwardly for a moment. Then she frowned. What is with Rath? she thought angrily to herself. Every time he opens his mouth to me, I feel ashamed of something I did! And, she was annoyed that he always made a good point.

She did not answer and turned to gather her things from where she had dropped them last night. Throwing a side glance at Wolf, she wondered...again...where Fuge went during the daylight hours. She patted his head and said "Let's go then," without looking back.

She could feel the forest edge now, just with her senses. That familiar feeling of the trees and all of Relwen around her that she'd known her whole life was fading behind her.

Patch up
by DartPM MemberMember Profile on Mon, 9 Oct 2006 00:46

Rath looked around with his senses. Everything seemed normal. Shena was upset with him, Fuge was gone, and there was no one around. He sent his senses beyond the edge of the fast approaching forest edge. His power s felt free as the air wasn't confined in the forest. Soon he'd be at full strength again. He looked over at Shena and decided to patch things up a bit.

"Shena. You have a lot to learn, so don't expect to be perfect. If I tell you something, I'm doing it to try to help you."

He laughed.

"Besides, if someone doesn't point out your mistakes you might get an ego, and who knows where that'll lead. The point, though, is that you can make mistakes. I'm just not much of a people person, so whatever I say may be harsher than I mean."

Shena looked straight ahead when she walked, but her hard expression softened a little. At least he was attempting to explain himself. She sighed inwardly.

"Yeah...you really aren't a people person. But I get it...you're you." Shena wondered if those words really made much sense, but she didn't try to fix her unclear statement.

She finally looked at him. "You know though...you definitely don't have to worry about me getting an ego." She smiled slightly. "I'm perfectly aware that I'm a bit of a screw up, and a klutz."

Then she looked accusingly at him again. "You really do think I'm just a child, don't you?"
